Ask your questions

(Real instruments/Mac, Windows) Moving samples to external drive.

RealGuitar:

  1. Create folder RealGuitar on your external drive and move RealGuitar sample data files (Acoustic_0AC44.mln and Steel_0AC44.mln) from System Drive/Library/Application Support/MusicLab/RealGuitar (Mac users) or C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicLab\RealGuitar 6 folder (Windows users) to RealGuitar folder on external drive;
  2. Run RealGuitar Classic, it will ask you to locate soundbank. Point to RealGuitar folder (Acoustic_0AC44.mln) on external drive, click OK;
  3. Run RealGuitar Steel String, it will ask you to locate soundbank. Point to RealGuitar folder (Steel_0AC44.mln) on external drive, click OK.

RealStrat:

  1. Create folder RealStrat on your external drive and move RealStrat sample data files (Strat4_0AC44.mln and Elite_0AC44.mln) System Drive/Library/Application Support/MusicLab/RealStrat (Mac users) or C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicLab\RealStrat 6 folder (Windows users) to RealStrat folder on external drive;
  2. Run RealStrat Standard, it will ask you to locate soundbank. Point to RealStrat folder (Strat4_0AC44.mln) on external drive, click OK.
  3. Run RealStrat Elite, it will ask you to locate soundbank. Point to RealStrat folder (Elite_0AC44.mln) on external drive, click OK.

RealLPC:

  1. Create folder RealLPC on your external drive and move RealLPC sample data files (LPC5_0AC44.mln) from System Drive/Library/Application Support/MusicLab/RealLPC (Mac users) or C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicLab\RealLPC 6 folder (Windows users) folder to external drive;
  2. Run RealLPC, it will ask you to locate soundbank. Point to RealLPC folder (LPC5_0AC44.mln) on external drive, click OK.

RealRick:

  1. Create folder RealRick on your external drive and move RealRick sample data files (Rick4_0AC44.mln) System Drive/Library/Application Support/MusicLab/RealRick (Mac users) or C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicLab\RealRick 6 folder (Windows users) folder to external drive;
  2. Run RealRick, it will ask you to locate soundbank. Point to RealRick folder (Rick4_0AC44.mln) on external drive, click OK.

RealEight:

  1. Create folder RealEight on your external drive and move RealEight sample data files (Eight4_0AC44.mln) System Drive/Library/Application Support/MusicLab/RealEight (Mac users) or C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicLab\RealEight 6 folder (Windows users) folder to external drive;
  2. Run RealEight, it will ask you to locate soundbank. Point to RealEight folder (Eight4_0AC44.mln) on external drive, click OK.
(RealGuitar, RealStrat, RealLPC/RealEight/Mac, Windows) I installed RealGuitar/RealStrat/RealLPC/RealEight, it asks me to locate sound bank. Where do I find it?

Real instrument's installer copies sound bank to this folder:

Mac: /Library/Application Support/MusicLab/<Real instrument name>
Windows: Default installation folder*

If you want to manage sound banks, please Bank Manager**, select sample rate[s] you work in your DAW with and click Apply button. Please note, standalone versions of RealGuitar/RealStrat/RealLPC/RealRick/RealEight require 44100 sample rate.

*Default installation folders:

Mac: Macintosh HD/Applications: RealGuitar Classic/Steel String app, RealStrat Standard app, RealStrat Elite app, RealLPC app, RealRick app, RealEight app
Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicLab\RealGuitar 6, C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicLab\RealStrat 6, C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicLab\RealLPC 6, C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicLab\RealRick 6, C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicLab\RealEight 6

** RealGuitar/RealStrat/RealLPC/RealEight Bank Manager is available on Mac/Windows: Standalone version of RealGuitar Classic/RealGuitar Steel String/RealStrat Standard/RealStrat Elite/RealLPC/RealEight -> click on product name in the top of the screen -> Open Bank Manager

(Real ALL instruments/Mac, Windows) Is it possible to tune the MusicLab guitars to A=432 or some other base than 440?

Yes, of course. Here are settings for popular tunings you can make in Tune menu bar (upper left corner of Real* instrument window) using Fine (cents) and Coarse (semitones) sliders in Pitch section:

424 Hz: -64 cents
432 Hz: -32 cents
440 Hz: 0 cents
442 Hz: +8 cents
449 Hz: +35 cents
528 Hz: +3 semitones, +16 cents
